Jessica Chastain is an American actress and producer who is famous for her portrayal of strong-willed women in films that feature feminist themes. She was the winner of a Golden Globe Award, she has been nominated for two categories for the Oscar. After seeing the US show 'Joseph & the Amazing Tecnhicolor dreamcoat she started to get interested in acting. Her professional stage debut was in a play of "Romeo and Juliet" as well as her debut on film with the part in the drama film "Jolene". It was a hit with the roles she played in films like "Take shelter", "The Help", "Mama" and Interstellar. She received the Golden Globe Award for her part in the film 'Zero Dark Thirty which was nominated for 'Best Actress'. She is most famous for her performance as strong but flawed women. Many of her roles are popular because they promote feminist values. A feminist who is outspoken, she is famous for her outspoken support for equal pay and has also slammed works she felt were offering her unequal pay. TIME magazine ranked her among the most influential individuals in the world in 2012.
