Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden, born 14 August 1959 in La Jolla (California), was the 3rd child in a family of five. Beverly Bushfield was her maternal grandmother. Thad Harden being in active military service, was the father. She began to develop an interest in theater while staying together with family members in Greece and going to plays in Athens. Harden began her university education in American colleges in Europe before returning to the US to finish her studies in the University of Texas in 1983 and then earned an MFA from NYU after which she began her acting career. Her previous roles included the film in 1986, The Imagemaker, but her first major role was in Miller's Crossing, the Coen Brothers' offbeat, clever tribute to gangster films. Harden's beautiful portrayal of Verna who was a mysterious, beautiful moll, earned her rave reviewers. Harden kept working hard as an actor supporting the character, playing Ava Gardner in Sinatra (92) which was a biopic made for TV that portrayed Frank Sinatra. Marcia Marcia Marcia
