Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine was born June 1, 1974. She was born in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek name is an empathetic version of her father's name: Alan. Georgia is the name given to her mother. She also has two brothers named Chad Wade and Chad Wade. She began playing the piano in her early years, aged 6 and the guitar at 21. Alanis released a single in 1986 named Fate Stay with I (b aspect: Find The Right Man). In Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop records: Alanis (in 1991) and now Is The Time in 1992. The singer moved to Toronto when she turned 18 and began working with music and writers, but these collaborations did not work. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she decided to go with in 1994. Glen has previously collaborated alongside Aretha Frankin, Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. Her move to LA after turning 19. Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" in June 13th in 1995. Alanis' songs are autobiographical. JLP sold around 30 million copies around the world and is the most-sold female album of all time. Also, it is the 3rd most talked about album of all time.
